Target and Kohls Makeup Haul

Hey there friends. I’ve been so good about not buying makeup, and I mean…SO good. Really. It’s been MONTHS.

Butttt inevitably I had to venture into those glittering aisles for a replacement mascara (Miss Manga finally bit the dust) and I fell off the wagon. Forgive my weird blurbs about each product, I was keeping it super casual 😛

♦ NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in Dark Brown/Brown

A little light for my brows, and the wax is weird…it doesn’t dry. Like, excuse me, do I look like someone who wants sticky eyebrows all dang day? Still, the powders are nice, and the mini brush and spooly that come in the kit actually aren’t bad at all.

♦ e.l.f. Studio Prism Eyeshadow in Sunset

Holy pancakes Batman. This is so good!! I must go back for the other palette. The texture is difficult to describe…basically, it’s a very creamy powder. The colors are extremely metallic and pigmented. I’ll see if I can cook up an appropriate Valentine’s look with ’em.

♦ Sonia Kashuk Lustrous Shine Lip Crayon in Peony

God damnit Sonia Kashuk, why do your lip products gotta be so good?? I love the color and the formula of this amazing lipstick-balm hybrid thingy. I will be wearing it until it dies. And it’s twist-up, so no sharpening required.

♦ Jane Cosmetics Water-Resistant Liquid Eye Liner in Black

I’ve heard some good things about this liner, but I was a bit disappointed. Granted, I’ve only used it once, but it STINGS MY EYEBALLS. (Like the fires of hell. Or something.) That aside, it is long-lasting and takes a bit of effort to remove. Application is pretty simple if you’ve mastered the idiocy that is the thin bendy liquid liner brush, and it dries matte. Eh. Maybe it’d work for someone with less sensitive eyes, but I took it off an hour ago and I can still feel it stinging.

♦ Jane Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Juniper

Totally picked this up on a whim, because single eyeshadows are notoriously neglected in my stash. It’s a gorgeous smokey deep teal that isn’t super metallic but still quite pigmented. Over a dark base this would be ERMERZINGGG. I’ll give it a go.

♦ The Balm Cindy-Lou Manizer

Lovely creamy blush/highlighter type deal. Gives my cheeks an odd but beautiful corally sheen. Definitely want to pick up Mary-Lou Manizer although I never wear proper highlighter…#oilyskinproblems

♦ Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

Ah, the original reason for my stop. It will forever be my curse that I ALWAYS AND WITHOUT FAIL accidentally buy the waterproof version of a mascara. Upon application, though, I had that “oh my gosh, is this mascara real” moment that I’ve only had a few times in my life. It was a pain to remove, but I might just be able to live with that in exchange for the incredible volume this gives my pathetic lashes.

Haul | Target | Jewelry Makeup & Hair

Hello, all! The other day I had the sudden and exigent urge to buy a bunch of stuff for myself. Do you ever get those? Like you just know that you need to treat yourself to many sparkly/tasty things. When my father gets this urge, he buys a new rifle. I prefer lipstick.

The only makeup items I purchased were this Sonia Kashuk Sheer Lip Color in Sheer Plum, which I applied immediately, and a brush. The lipstick is INTENSELY moisturizing and not all that sheer, plus the tube is huge. Miiiight need to buy every color they have. I discovered I’d already bought the SK Large Crease Brush in different packaging, which I was pretty bummed about, but it’s a good brush.

The Philosophy Falling in Love perfume was purchased in Sephora last week, but I just wanted to mention it because I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It smells like citrus and blackberries, which are my favorite scents in the known universe. Excluding cilantro, which is not a good perfume scent.

For jewelry, Target was having a buy one, get one half off sale, so I kinda went crazy. Crazy for me is 4 things, I guess. *shrugs*

I’ve been eyeing those gorgeous yellow-green dangly earrings for ages, and they finally went on clearance. Yeah. Bought those. These midi rings were also pretty adorable, and I wanted some plain gold rings to contrast with my silver ones.

These pink and blue necklaces were screaming at me to buy them, and I was powerless to resist. I love statement necklaces, and these look SO AWESOME with my hair.

Place your bets here: when will Olive shut up about her hair?

Never.I also bought hairpins, pointed Cutips (makeup necessity right thar), and a black braided headband that wouldn’t show up against the dark background. Short hair = ability to wear hair accessories without looking like a preschooler.

Makeup Haul ft. Milani Bella Eyes and NYX Macaron Lipsticks

Hello, all! So starting my job about a month ago meant I had a lot of spare cash laying around…gathering dust…begging me to spend it on makeup. Welp, I’m not one to deny its wishes.

I’ve heard a lot of hype about the Milani Bella Eyes and NYX Macaron Lipsticks lately, so I decided to pick a few up. I did my research (aka googled pictures until my eyes bled from longing) and picked the products that were, in my opinion, the most superior.

Or I might have just picked colors I liked. Whichever makes this purchase seem more justified 🙂

NYX Macaron Lipsticks in Blue Velvet (pictured), Pistachio (mint green), Chambord (black), and Coconut (white). The blue and green are just gorgeous and unique, and the black and white will help create new lip colors without spending $18 on an OCC Lip Tar. Eeep, those things are pricey.

NYX Blush in Taupe: a fantastic contour shade for fair skin.

Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadows in Bella Violet (pictured), Bella Ivory (matte white), Bella Diamond (shimmery white), Bella Emerald (metallic dark green), and Bella Mandarin (shimmery orange). Apparently the texture of these is fantastic, so I expect great things.
