OOTD | Elephant Shirt

11 Nov

Hello, friends! Following once again the advice of dear Kat, I decided to do an outfit of the day post, though I detest the word “outfit” and endeavor to use it as sparingly as possible. Mostly it’s just because my makeup was boring and I loved this dang elephant shirt.

Apologies for the bathroom selfies, I have no other full-length mirror. It ain’t even my bathroom, guys.  elephant collage

Why hello, left arm, dangling there all clueless and seductive.

Look at those little elephants though!! I can’t stand the cute. This shirt makes 4 total elephant print shirts of mine. Just for kicks, here’s a collage of 3 of them, because I like making collages.

Elephants are kinda the best animals ever. Have you seen this one paint a self-portrait? I want an elephant.

Dangly feather earrings and a Nixon-worthy peace sign. One of the feathers sadly perished later in the day, caught in the strap of my backpack. RIP. elephant collage 3

♦ The jeans are by the brand Wallflower and they’re called “dorm jeans.” In essence, they’re basically sweatpants, drawstring waistband and all. No shame, no shame.

♦ I did manage to find the shirt on Forever 21 for obscenely cheap.

Earrings are F21 as well, from a while back. I’m sure you could find similar at Claire’s or something. *Unashamedly still shops at Claire’s*

♦ I wasn’t wearing shoes in the pics (too lazy to find them/put them on) but they were these awesome Marvel comics printed slip-ons from Wet Seal. Cheap, comfy, and adorable 🙂

Favorites | September 2014

3 Oct

But for real, didn’t I JUST do August favorites? Sigh.

Well, this month school started, and that means MAKEUP EVERY DAY again, oh and also it must be NEATO and CREATIVE and COLORFUL every day.

These are the standards I set for myself.

But it’s also fall, which means DARK DARK DARK LIPS and looking constantly pissed off. Ya feel me? My friend Amanda calls it her “don’t-f*ckin-touch-me* makeup and I have to agree.

This month I went a tad crazy with lip colors, but they were all from the drugstore, so snaps for me!

♦ Wet ‘n Wild Fergie Cream Lipstick in Ferguson Crest Cabernet

My first berry lipstick ever, and I love it! It’s not quite matte but not shimmery or sheeny or anything either, and it’s SO comfortable to wear. Also it was maybe $2? Score.

♦ L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara

I’ve been wearing nothing else since I got it. It’s voluminizing, lengthening, and somewhat separating. I haven’t gotten around to doing a proper mascara review because, well, lazy, but this one is great. Warning: if you don’t like slightly clumped, doll-like lashes, might want to stay away from this guy. I don’t mind, so score #2.

♦ Dexter

The first time I watched this show I hated it, but now I can’t get enough. I’m about through season 7 and I don’t want it to end. I still can’t watch it with my family in the room due to the rather unnecessary nudity…sigh. Why you gotta be that way.

♦ Everyone’s Halloween tutorials!!!

It’s my favorite time of year, the time when Youtubers churn out Halloween makeup tutorials like butter.

Some of my favorites…

With many more to come! I’ll get in the habit of sharing my favorites within my posts as I doubt I’ll get many up myself before Halloween…sniffle.

And lastly…

♦ Pluto (it’s a planet again)

My favorite quote from this article:

If Pluto is a planet, the number of planets in our solar system could rise to 25, “with the possibility of 50 or 100 within the next decade. Do we want schoolchildren to have to remember so many? No, we want to keep the numbers low.”

A brilliant argument.

Shoot me a comment if you enjoyed this post or if you have any suggestions for future tutorials, reviews, and tags; I’d love to hear them! Halloween is JUST AROUND THE CORNER *hyperventilates* and I would love to do some Halloween tutorials for y’all! What do you think? Gory? Pretty? Bit of both?

Haul | Target | Jewelry Makeup & Hair

21 Sep

Hello, all! The other day I had the sudden and exigent urge to buy a bunch of stuff for myself. Do you ever get those? Like you just know that you need to treat yourself to many sparkly/tasty things. When my father gets this urge, he buys a new rifle. I prefer lipstick.DSC05241

The only makeup items I purchased were this Sonia Kashuk Sheer Lip Color in Sheer Plum, which I applied immediately, and a brush. The lipstick is INTENSELY moisturizing and not all that sheer, plus the tube is huge. Miiiight need to buy every color they have. I discovered I’d already bought the SK Large Crease Brush in different packaging, which I was pretty bummed about, but it’s a good brush.

The Philosophy Falling in Love perfume was purchased in Sephora last week, but I just wanted to mention it because I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It smells like citrus and blackberries, which are my favorite scents in the known universe. Excluding cilantro, which is not a good perfume scent.DSC05242

For jewelry, Target was having a buy one, get one half off sale, so I kinda went crazy. Crazy for me is 4 things, I guess. *shrugs*

I’ve been eyeing those gorgeous yellow-green dangly earrings for ages, and they finally went on clearance. Yeah. Bought those. These midi rings were also pretty adorable, and I wanted some plain gold rings to contrast with my silver ones. DSC05243

These pink and blue necklaces were screaming at me to buy them, and I was powerless to resist. I love statement necklaces, and these look SO AWESOME with my hair.

Place your bets here: when will Olive shut up about her hair?

Never.DSC05244I also bought hairpins, pointed Cutips (makeup necessity right thar), and a black braided headband that wouldn’t show up against the dark background. Short hair = ability to wear hair accessories without looking like a preschooler.
