My friend Bef and I went on another one of our “not dates” to our local sushi restaurant. I did my face up all nice.

Products used:

– Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bold Gold

– Lorac Pro Palette: gold, garnet, lt. bronze

– NYX Love in Florence Palette: dark green

– No7 Stay Precise Liquid Liner in Brown but I decided it was too dark so I added gold on top of it

– Maybelline The Falsies Mascara in Black on top lashes, bottom ones went commando

For the hair, I just added a lil headband I found in Target ages ago, braided a few sections of my hair, and called it good.

I took the pictures inside because I was too lazy to go outside (don’t judge me); my apologies for the awkward shadows. I’ll stop being lazy.

Not.

By the way, I love fall, guys.

Best season there is.

Y’all agree with me, amirite?

Cheers and sushi,

Olive

NAMI Walk & Rainbow Makeup

29 Sep

Today, my team the Roy G. Bivs participated in a NAMI Walk for Mental Illness Awareness. From their website,

NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need.

I have several friends who have suffered from mental illnesses, so I participated to show my support. It’s an important and relevant issue that I’m glad is being directly addressed through this organization 🙂

So, on the more vain side of things, wanna see my face? We were a rainbow team, so naturally I did rainbow face.

(I basically just violated my BH Cosmetics 120 Palette for this look.)

I used to participate in A LOT of MS walks in support of my mother, so I’m glad to be back in the swing of things.

Also, if you’re interested in doing a walk, THEY HAVE SUPER TASTY FOOD and they made me a balloon sword.

pirate sword.

Argh mateys and happiness,

Olive

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Pilot Review

28 Sep

Ok, let me just say, I was very excited for this show! A continuation of my favorite superhero movies? WITH COULSON??? (Technically NOT a spoiler since EVERYONE knew about this). So I purposefully didn’t read a lot of spoilers before the pilot, hoping to be surprised later.

I didn’t catch a lot of names, so I referred to the characters as Coulson, Grumpy Agent Ward, Grumpy Asian Lady with Secret Melinda May, Angry Centipede Man, Airheaded Cosplay Hacker Woman, and Nerdy British and Irish Duo. I’ll try to keep it important spoiler-free, but you should probably just go watch it 🙂

I wasn’t aware of this before I watched it, but the show is set after the events in The Avengers and Iron Man 3, so they refer to the previous movies (Extremis, Stark Tower, New York, etc). You may want to watch those to get the full effect…OR JUST WATCH ALL THE MARVEL MOVIES AT ONCE IN A GLORIOUS MARVEL MARATHON.

Just a suggestion.

This played out more like a movie than the first episode of a show, with the characters and setting set up quickly in an attempt to move right into the heart of the action. I felt a little overwhelmed, but it wasn’t slow by any means. It was funny, it was snappy, and it had enough shocking and/or mysterious moments to keep me intrigued for the next episode.

3/5 and an expression of gleeful geekiness from Olive 🙂
