LOTD: Freaky Red Spot

27 Mar

I decided to try something a little odd using the colors from today’s ensemble.

Today marks the anniversary of the last time I will ever refer to my clothes as an “ensemble.”

Welp…anywho…

Image

It looks pretty wild when my eyes are closed, but with them open…Image

Voila! No more crazy.

Image

I also really like how my eye color blends with the colors on the lid. It usually fades into the background, but the blue eyeliner helps it stand out 🙂 ImageImage

Would you ever wear anything like this?

Products used:

♦ NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

♦ Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Electric

♦ Sugarpill Pressed Eyeshadow in Love+

♦ L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Golden Sage

♦ Lorac Pro Palette: Lt. Bronze, White

♦ Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara

♦ Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie

I’m still working on the gel liner skills…:\ 6 AM sleep-deprived hands are not conducive to crisp eyeliner.

Hey ya’ll, random question but does anyone watch How I Met Your Mother? I can’t believe it’s ending, although I’m super ready for this stupid wedding to be over with. I hope the Mother doesn’t die or anything like that…the show does much better with comedy than tragedy.

Probably over-thinking it 🙂

Supernatural Series: Djinn

25 Mar

Soooo…I went a little crazy with the gel liner. But for a good cause, I promise!

Supernatural’s djinn are basically creepy tattooed monsters that go around kidnapping people, hooking them up to IVs like in that one scene in Inception, and giving them pleasant hallucinations while they drain their blood. Lovely, aren’t they?

I usually don’t like to edit my pictures too much, but everything about the djinn screams “blue tinted” to me, so I stuck some tinted photos in with the normal ones. I didn’t have blue contacts (despondent sigh), so I went for blue eyeliner instead.

An “actual” djinn:

Sadly, I’m already losing accuracy points on this look for not being bald. And those browbones are totally beyond me.

I freehanded most of the designs with the above as a reference because I was using an angled brush and I was too lazy to go find one that would do curvy designs. So mine’s a lot simpler, but what do you expect for 9:30 PM?

Ma djinn lips.

Image

Menacing -.-

Image

So edit. Much blue.

Image

Image

Wow, that was a lot of photos.

And eyeliner.

Oops.

Products used (not that anyone will recreate this…although I highly recommend it, it was very therapeutic):

Eyes:

♦ NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Electric Blue

Face:

♦ e.l.f. Gel Liner in Black

Going hog-wild once it in a while is incredibly fun 😀

I’ll cool it with the Supernatural for a while, as I’m sure everyone is sick of it (except me :)). Maybe get back into the zodiac series…

Let me know what you think of this look! It could pretty easily be adapted into a sugar skull for Halloween/Day of the Dead, or a skeleton-face for whenever you feel like being a skeleton.

Every day, obviously.

Wearable Iron Man Inspired Makeup

23 Mar

Iron Man is the best Avenger, hands down.

Image

From this look I did about a year ago:

Image

To this school-appropriate look today:

Image

I forgot I get more freckly in the summer…

Image

Ignore the fact that I got a little slap-happy with the eyebrow tweezers -.-

ImageImage

I have finally learned to show restraint!

Restraint=red eyeliner. Totes.

Products used:

♦ NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Gold

♦ Urban Decay Naked Palette: Half Baked, Smog

♦ Lorac Unzipped Palette: Unbridled

♦ Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Poison

♦ Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara; I’ve taken to applying this only on the outer top lashes to avoid them brushing against my lenses. Works like a charm!

This started out as a simple one-eyeshadow look, but the red liner gives it a lil somethin’ special.

Well, I’ve got my Iron Man shirt on and I’m ready to face the day! What do you think? I’m considering updating my original Iron Man look for something…erm…better…it’s crazy how awkward my makeup was a year ago 😉
