Soft Rainbow ft. Colour Pop

Hey there friends.

I created this look right right right after I received my first Colour Pop order (link for that haul and review is at the end of this post). Obviously I bought myself a rainbow and was obligated to smear a rainbow on my eyeballs. As you do.

The texture of these shadows is so weird…kinda creamy but definitely a pressed powder eyeshadow. Because they contain a lot of that binding agent that makes eyeshadows stick so well to the skin, they can be tricky to blend, so I used my neutral matte shades from the UD Naked 3 palette to get on dat harsh edge. Supa easy, supa sparkly.

Seriously, look at those sparkles. Every one of these shadows was packed with glitter, and it didn’t end up getting all over my face with maybe the exception of Fizz, the green. So it goes, I guess.

Did I go a bit crazy with the collages? Probably.

Makeupstorming | Avant Pop Mermaid ft. NYX

Hey there friends. I recently picked up a few things from NYX and had a very VERY quick playtime with them at 11:00 pm. I’m not kidding; I get off work at 9:30, bone tired, and the first thing I think is GOTTA GO DO MAKEUP NOW. I’m insane, I swear.

Anywho, this was done in about ten minooooots, so no judgey-judging the sloppy lines.

Man, I love blues and greens on my eyes. I really have to force myself to do looks with warm tones, especially warm neutrals. I think I was born to wear blue eyeshadow. It is my legacy 🙂

Review | Colour Pop Haul & Swatches

Hey there friends. Kay, I knowww I’m late late late to this bandwagon. But now that I’m here, I’ll admit- it’s amazing.

I totally didn’t mean to buy a rainbow, but that’s kinda what happened. Prepare yourself for the barrage of photos ☺

I’ve used all these shades once in a look today. My thoughts are: AHHHH THESE ARE AMAZINGGGG.

But seriously, I NEED to place another order. Maybe one with more neutrals. Anyhow, here’s a shade rundown.

Erotic is a gorgeous blue-based red with golden sparkles. It applied well with a brush. All of these colors apply best with your fingers, but some of them I was able to apply and blend out with a synthetic brush. Animal is a coral-orange with golden sparkles. Similar consistency to the others, very smooth. Sour is a yellow with a tinge of green; it was a bit patchier than the others. Fizz is a bright green with loads of silver sparkles. It was the hardest to work with because of all the glitter but once on, it was sooo beautiful, probably my favorite of the bunch. 

Ibiza is a turquoise blue with a bit of sparkle. It’s been on my to-buy list for probably months. It has one of the smoothest consistencies of any shadow I’ve ever owned. Love. I ♥ This is difficult to describe…it’s a neutral-to-cool toned silvery taupe with silver sparkle. Instant impact when applied with a fingertip. The two Lippie Stix have similar buttery formulas. Charm and Raw need to be layered several times to achieve full opacity. I don’t know yet about the lasting power, but they do not dry down much, so I’d guess only 2-4 hours.

Thoughts on Colour Pop? I’ve got two very different looks using these products coming up soon soon very soon, so stay tuned 🙂 Overall I’m extremely happy; for $5 a pop, CP really delivers on the quality (and the shipping! I got free shipping and my order arrived in < a week. Radddd.)
