Spending Ban (Or, The Things I’m Not Allowed to Buy)

7 Oct

…Despite wanting them. Real bad.

I’ve spent a lot of money (read: more than I make in a month. Or two. Or three. Or four) on various things lately and I’ve decided that I need to accrue a bit more before I continue my no-holds-barred consumerism. Of course, I still need gas and lunch and things, so the obvious culprit was my makeup spending.

I plan to break the ban around early to mid-December, when holiday spending becomes a necessity. Hopefully by then I can get my account back into the black.

Just to show you how serious I am about this whole shebang, here’s a list of all the lovely things I’d just kill someone to own, but won’t purchase. For now…

♦ Lorac Pro Mega Palette

Of course, I’m a Lorac Pro Palette disciple, but my only gripe with them would be that they just aren’t big enough.

Nah, I’m kidding, but knowing the amazing quality of these shades, I’d buy anything that Lorac spits out. Anything. Plus this one’s cheaper per shade than the previous two, and has only a few repeats plus some super fun jewel tones. I feel like it’s an Urban Decay Vice Palette for grownups, and a bit cheaper, too. I know I’ll be purchasing this in the future, but for now, no.

♦ NYX Wicked Lipsticks

Ugh, NYX, not again. Can’t find a good pic but here you go. Slowly dying here. Copper lipstick. Metallic green lipstick. ROYAL METALLIC BLUE LIPSTICK.

♦ Sugarpill Sparkle Baby Palette

This was just released a few days ago, but I’ve wanted it since Shrinkle (Sugarpill’s rainbow CEO) announced it maybe a year ago? I dunno, time runs slower in makeup-world. Anywho, that first shimmery peach shade (Kitten Parade) is gorgeous and unlike anything I have (except maybe one thing, but that doesn’t count).

♦ The entire Real Techniques brush range

Because, duh, they’re amazing. And feel like bunny butts on your face.

♦ Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Poe

The photo doesn’t do it justice. It’s a navy blue lipstick. Yeah. No words necessary. Plus the formula is super creamy and the packaging looks dangerous.

That about does it for now. Pray for me in the next week as I am *forced* to watch all the Youtubers play with the Lorac Pro Mega Palette. *exaggerated sigh*

Shoot me a comment if you enjoyed this post or if you have any suggestions for future tutorials, reviews, and tags; I’d love to hear them! Halloween is JUST AROUND THE CORNER *hyperventilates* and I would love to do some Halloween tutorials for y’all! What do you think? Gory? Pretty? Bit of both?

    Oh GOSH that Poe lipstick…!

    ‘Accrue’ ❤

I haven't realized it really, before I read your post, but I'm on a spending ban too… I think you can guess bottles of what substances are aplenty in my flat, don't need ANY OTHER COLOUR. (But, but, there's this gorgeous Essie Tuck it in My Tux, new collection, so so beautiful… NO. no.)

    ; )

I’m that weird vocabulary girl I guess :\

I totally broke my ban already, but for a good cause. Limited edition palette. Yeah…we should compete to see who can spend the least from now until Christmas time! I’m already at a $60 deficit…your move, nail pornographer.
