Makeupstorming: The Third Eye

2 Dec

Covering the top half of my face, then lip syncing while wearing this makeup is behavior too hilarious and immature to justify.

Tons of pictures incoming, and a plethora of dorky faces. 🙂

Funny faces!

It looks like a strange lopsided mustache, in the words of my family.

Sad eyeball.

Yeah, I got lazy and just did one eye winking (cheekily). I’m supposed to go shopping but somehow I think my mother will not approve of this socially unacceptable arrangement.

I got the idea from a photo I saw on Instagram, which sadly I can’t find. 😦 I wasn’t really sure what materials to use so I used a combination of cream and pressed shadows. In hindsight, I probably should have used face paints, but I couldn’t justify the death of my precious makeup brushes and I didn’t have any brushes fine enough for this sort of detail work. ELVES, ADD THEM TO MY CHRISTMAS LIST.

All in all, it took about 2 hours and a lot of patience, but the end result is rather satisfying, isn’t it? If you stand far away and squint, it almost looks like I grew a third eye.

Products used:

– LORAC Pro Palette

– e.l.f. Jumbo Eyeshadow Sticks in Forest Nymph and Turkish Coffee

– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

– Some random tinted lipbalm from Sally’s

I hope you enjoyed this craziness, it was a ton of fun to create. 😀 What do you think?

Cheers!

That is so cool! Definitely original.

I’ve nominated you for the WordPress Family Award (which I’m sure you have nominated for like 100 times now!).

Thank you so much!! I’m a little (a lot) behind on awards right now but I really appreciate the nomination 🙂

It’s weird how realistic it looks from the facial shots (not the close up shots) :S

Haha isn’t it? For a first attempt I was surprised at how…well realistic doesn’t seem quite the right word, but creepy!

Think inside the box!
