Sugarpill Burning Heart Palette Review

My first Sugarpill purchase! I’m so excited to review this! 🙂 But first, some swatches!

These colors are amazingly pigmented, but a bit chalky. The fallout was ridiculous; even when I swatched the colors with my fingers, bits of shadow got EVERYWHERE. So using a sticky base would be useful to control the tornado of fallout that will rain destruction all over your face.

The colors themselves are gorgeous, they’d go well together or with other brightly colored shadows or even to add a bit of color to a smokey eye. The pans are huge and will definitely last me a while, and the sturdy cardboard packaging is adorable (I just wish the mirror stood up on its own). I’m so glad to finally have matte (or nearly matte, they have a few sparkles) purple, red, and yellow shades, and the orange is just an added bonus!

Flamepoint: The least pigmented of the bunch, but still lovely and buildable. Completely matte orange.

Buttercupcake: Great pigmentation but a bit streaky. Can be built up like the others. Slight sparkle, but matte-based golden yellow.

Love+: Extremely pigmented true red.

Poison Plum: Pigmented medium purple with slight sparkles.

Rating (out of 5):

half an eyeball

I’m off to go try out some looks! What do you think of the swatches, or the palette if you have it? Any tips for controlling fallout?
