Masquerade Makeup

21 Oct

For Halloween or, you know, whenever 🙂 I picked up this pretty black and silver lace mask for a few bucks at Party City and was inspired by the shape of the eye holes. I tried to map the makeup to fit them and was semi-successful.

Lots of pictures incoming!

Products used:

– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils in Milk and Black Bean

– Wet ‘n Wild Color Icon Palettes in Don’t Steal My Thunder (black and white) and Knock On Wood (red-based purple)

– Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Black

– White cosmetic glitter with green shimmer

– Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

– Wet ‘n Wild Silk Finish Lipstick in Dark Wine

Tutorial:

1. Prime the eyes and map out the shape of the wing with a black or white pencil and an angled eyeliner brush.

2. Fill in the inner and outer part of the wing with a black base and the center of the lid with a white base. Blend out with a finger.

3. With a flat brush, pat white eyeshadow in the center of the lid and purple on the rest of the lid.

4. With the same brush, apply black eyeshadow on the outer and inner parts of the lid and along the lower lashline, bringing it to a point at the corners of the eye (see pictures).

5. Blend the colors together using a fluffy brush.

6. Highlight the inner corner of the eye with the white eyeshadow.

7. Apply a glitter base or clear lipgloss sparingly to the center of the lid. Pat cosmetic (eye-safe) white glitter over the top.

8. Line the eyes with a combination of black liquid liner (for the wings) and pencil liner (for the waterlines).

9. Curl your lashes and apply generous coats of mascara.

10. Apply a dark red or purple lipstick. Finished!

I had way too much fun creating this look 😀 I encourage you to give it a go with your own mask; it would make a great look for that holiday just around the corner. Cheers all and happy face painting!
