Polka Dots and Falsies Makeup Tutorial

5 Aug

Today I decided to try using false lashes in a makeup look. I’ve worn them before, but I always end up ruining the makeup with smudges of lash glue and the actual lashes end up at wonky angles. But today I was brave.

My friend’s mom (yes, I am a social butterfly) suggested that I do a look that involved dots, soooooo this is what I came up with.

Products used:

– e.l.f. Eye Primer in Sheer

– e.l.f. Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Midnight Rendezvous

– Palladio Baked Eyeshadow in Jet Black

– Milani Liquid Eye Eyeliner in 01 Black

– Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eyeliner in Black

– Maybelline EyeStudio Master Drama Cream Pencil Liner in Made of Steel (that was a long name :))

– NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk

– Wet ‘n Wild Color Icon Palette in Blue Had Me at Hello: bright blue eyeshadow

– Love 21 False Eyelashes (from Forever 21, I wouldn’t recommend them because the band is too thick and just icky to work with, but they were cheap)

Tutorial:

1. Prime the upper and lower lids with an eye primer.

2. With an angled eyeliner brush, map out a wing shape on the eyelid in black eyeshadow. Use a cutip to sharpen any lines until you’re satisfied with the shape.

3. Fill in the shape with a creamy black base and smudge out with your finger.

4. With a flat eyeshadow brush, pack on a black eyeshadow over the base.

5. Draw 2 lines with a white or blue eyeshadow base on the outline of the wing (see images above).

6. With an angled brush, apply a bright blue eyeshadow over the base.

7. Line the eyes with black eyeliner and bring it to a point in the inner corner of the eye.

8. Outline the point and line the waterline with silver eyeliner.

9. With liquid eyeliner, create circles underneath the lower lashline, increasing in size as they get closer to the pupil.

10. Curl your lashes and apply a dramatic set of false lashes. You’re finished!

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, let me know if you liked it and any suggestions for future looks in the comments below! Cheers everyone πŸ˜€
