Golden Olive Makeup Tutorial

18 Jun

In my mall haul post yesterday I mentioned I’d picked up a NYX roll-on shimmer shadow in “Taupe” and was anxious to try it out. Today I got my chance! Here’s a super-simple makeup tutorial using Taupe and a few other new products.

1. Start by applying primer of your choice. I used ELF’s mineral eye primer.Image

2. Blend a dark brown, green, or gold base over the eye. This will help the glittery shadows stick to the eye instead of your face:) ImageImage

3. Using NYX’s roll-on shimmer in Taupe or any glittery olive green eyeshadow, apply to the entire lid and blend. Unfortunately the pictures washed out the intensity of this shadow but it is gorgeous and more opaque than it looks:|

4. With a dark brown eyeshadow (I used a shade from the ELF 144 Neutrals palette), blend into the outer part of the lid and underneath the eye. Use the same olive shadow in the inner part of the eye as a highlight.

5. Line the eyes with a black or brown liquid eyeliner. You could also use a pencil to make the look a little softer.

6. Apply a few coats of your favorite mascara.

7. Apply a pink lip gloss; I used NYX’s Beige. Aaannnnddd you’re done!

Here’s the look with frames (mine are crooked as per usual):

I hope you enjoyed this simple makeup tutorial; please comment and let me know if you’d like to see more of these in the future! Cheers and have a wonderful Tuesday:)
